Wanted "a...I joined the Navy in Sept of 1951. Wanted "aircraft" so I was sent to VX-4 @ Point Mugu, in '52. Got to NAS, Adak, Alaska in the parachute loft, then to Milling, Tennessee to become an "Aviation Metalsmith" I graduated, 6th out of 73, and choose HAWAII as an assignment. I flew as a " Flight Steward" for VR-21 in R6D's, ("DC-6", civilian designation)out of Barbers Pt. Oahu, HI. (Not much "metalsmithing" LOL.) I turn 90 on Mar 24, 12 days from now. I still love the Navy.
