Attack on the Broadsword

Captain Carballo and noted Argentinian artist and illustrator Carlos A. Garcia provided more material and Carballo's copilot's name for my post on the one disappointing reproduction in Scooter!. For the update, go to http://thanlont.blogspot.com/2011/09/scooter.html

  1. Tommy,

The photo and painting confirm what I have long suspected--that the Argentines lost this war because of improper fuze settings on their ordnance. They hit many ships and could have devastated the British fleet, except that they were forced to come in very low and release of ordnance at low altitudes does not give the arming devices on the weapons time to properly arm the weapons. British ships were repeatedly struck by bombs that didn't detonate.

Also, did you still have an interest in help with the F7U monograph? if so, please let me know as soon as possible, so I can include the manuals for it that are available on CD

Otherwise, I'll put the limited funds toward others for now.

    Best,

    Ron Lewis
